Ludwig: A Clueless Genius and the Perfect Mystery Series

Ludwig is my new fav when it comes to a clueless, genius detective series. The lead character is clueless about human emotions but brilliant at puzzles. In this British comedy/mystery, the story is full of humor, making it one of the most entertaining mystery series. Ludwig is also clever and comforting, which is a rare combo.

The series follows John Taylor, a reclusive puzzle creator, who must leave a carefully controlled world when his identical twin brother—an experienced detective—goes missing. To find him, John assumes his brother’s identity and steps into a world he is shocked to navigate, constantly forced out of his comfort zone. The good news: he solves every crime he encounters. He’s a natural, and along the way of his crime-solving spree, he needs to figure out what happened to his brother. Plus, he’s stepped into his brother’s personal life, as well, and must be the brother-in-law and uncle to a family he’s avoided for years.

What makes Ludwig shine is its central concept: every crime becomes a puzzle to be decoded. And John is an expert at puzzles. As a mystery, Ludwig is a perfect blend of cozy and intellectual intrigue. I’m not the only one who thinks so, as the series is slated for a second season on BritBox. I hope it will be around for a long time. All of the Season One episodes are out, so now is the perfect time to jump into this series, if you haven’t discovered it already.
